I can’t remember it well and it happened years ago when I was a kid but I was in a dream where every door I went through took me somewhere different. I had a friend with me when I enter a school building and we were walking around together until we got to the gym and they disappeared. The only thing in the gym was sully from monsters inc facing away from me in the dead center of the gym and he was standing at a register scanning items and putting them on the rotating belt to his right, it was an eerie dark vibe but I approached him anyways and I can’t remember exactly what happened but something went wrong I think he started to chase me and I ran for my life toward the door jump sliding over the corner of the gym stage and I don’t remember anything else
This dream from your childhood is vivid and filled with symbolic imagery, which can provide insight into your subconscious mind at that time in your life. Let's break down the elements of the dream:
Doors Leading to Different Places: Doors often symbolize opportunities, choices, or transitions in life. The fact that each door led to a different place suggests that you were exploring various possibilities or facing new experiences. This could be indicative of a period in your life filled with curiosity and change, typical of many childhoods where each new day can feel like an adventure.
Friend Accompanying You: Having a friend with you represents companionship and support. This part of the dream suggests that during this time, you may have felt supported and not alone when confronted with new experiences or challenges.
Entering a School Building: Schools often represent learning, growth, and development. As a child, being in a school building might reflect your feelings about learning environments—either a place of discovery or possibly anxiety, especially considering the transition in the dream to a more nerve-wracking scenario.
Disappearing Friend: The friend's disappearance as you enter the gym might symbolize feelings of losing support or needing to confront something on your own. It reflects a transition from a comforting environment to one where you must rely on yourself, which could mirror real life changes or fears of independence you were facing as a child.
Sully from Monsters, Inc.: Characters from familiar stories or movies in dreams are often tied to emotions or traits associated with them. Sully isn't usually a frightening figure—he's meant to be kind and protective in "Monsters, Inc."—but the setting in your dream is eerie. This twist might imply that something you typically find comforting was unexpectedly frightening or confusing at that time.
Eerie Dark Vibe and the Chasing: The eerie atmosphere and subsequent chase by Sully indicate feelings of fear or danger. This part of the dream could represent a childhood anxiety or worry—fear of the unknown, of authority figures, or of something that initially appeared friendly but turned sour. It signifies a loss of control, often common in childhood dreams when encountering situations beyond your understanding.
Running and Escaping via the Gym Stage: Escaping from the situation by running and sliding tells of your body's fight-or-flight response. In dreams, running often mirrors your desire to escape or move away from troubling situations. This part likely reflects a lesson or experience about overcoming fears by taking action, or it might just symbolize the urgent emotions you felt during that phase of your life.
Overall, this dream seems to reflect a mix of exploration and the confronting of fears or anxieties typical in childhood. Your mind was processing a transition, perhaps signaling growth or adaptation to the larger world around you, filled with choices (doors) and challenges, some with and some without the comfort of known support (your friend).
